The AS54 series is here! Unlock your creativity with the AS54 series! The AS5402T and AS5404T come with two and four bays respectively, dual 2.5-Gigabit Ethernet for up to 5 Gbps of performance, four M.2 slots for NVMe SSDs, upgraded processor for better performance and transcoding performance, newer ADM and more!

ASUSTOR Inc., a leading provider of network attached storage (NAS) and video surveillance solutions, has announced the launch of its new AS-T10G2 10 Gigabit Ethernet card, which promises to deliver faster and more efficient network performance for both PCs and NAS devices. The AS-T10G2 is an upgraded version of the previous AS-T10G, which uses a different controller and offers lower power consumption. The AS-T10G2 is compatible with most devices that have a PCI Express slot, and supports various Ethernet speeds and standards. The AS-T10G2 also features IP, TCP, UDP checksum offload, which reduces the CPU load and improves the network throughput.

The AS-T10G2 is based on the AQC-107 controller from Aquantia, a subsidiary of Marvell Technology Group. According to ASUSTOR, the AQC-107 controller offers better performance and lower power requirements than the previous controller used in the AS-T10G. The company claims that using the Lockerstor 16R Pro, a 16-bay rackmount NAS from ASUSTOR, the AS-T10G2 achieved transfer rates of up to 1127 MB/s when reading and 1124 MB/s when writing. These speeds are significantly higher than the typical Gigabit Ethernet speeds, which are limited to around 100 MB/s.

The AS-T10G2 has a single 10 Gbps 8p8c RJ-45 Ethernet port, which supports automatic switching between 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, 5 Gbps, and 10 Gbps speeds. The AS-T10G2 also supports various Ethernet standards, such as IEEE 802.3an 10GBase-T, IEEE 802.3ab 1000Base-T, IEEE 802.3u 100Base-TX, IEEE 802.3bz NBASE-T, IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet, IEEE 802.1p Priority Queuing, IEEE 802.3x Flow Control, IEEE 802.1Q Tagged VLAN, IEEE 802.1Qav Audio Video Bridging, and IEEE 1588 v2 Precision Time Protocol.

The AS-T10G2 is compatible with four lanes of PCI Express 3.0, which provides enough bandwidth for the 10 Gbps network speed. The AS-T10G2 can be installed in any device that has a PCI Express slot, such as a PC or a NAS. The AS-T10G2 comes with both full-height and half-height brackets, which makes it suitable for different types of cases. The AS-T10G2 requires ADM 3.5.6 or later for ASUSTOR NAS devices, or Windows 7/8/8.1/10 or Linux Kernel 4.4/4.8/4.9 for PCs.
