Polk’s Most Affordable Speaker Line Includes Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos Capabilities

Polk Audio has launched the Monitor XT Series, a complete Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos Certified speaker lineup. The series is available in a variety of models, enabling customers to build a home theater or Hi-Fi system that suits their listening space and budget.

Monitor XT Series represents the evolution of Polk Audio’s critically acclaimed Monitor speaker line. The new series takes advantage of Polk’s latest advances in superior sounding, but still cost-effective, woofers, tweeters, crossovers, and cabinetry, all designed to deliver dynamic, lifelike sound and effortless bass from today’s high resolution and Dolby Atmos streaming services.

The Monitor XT Series lineup includes two floor-standing towers, slim and full-size center channels, two bookshelf models, a 12-inch powered subwoofer and a height module for immersive surround sound. All models are finished in Midnight Black.

“Monitor XT provides all listeners an entry point into Polk Audio’s 50 years’ worth of experience building iconic loudspeakers that deliver clarity, high-output and effortless bass,” said Frank Sterns, president of Polk Audio. “As high-resolution audio is becoming the norm on music streaming services and ‘Direct to Streaming’ movie releases in Dolby Atmos proliferate, Monitor XT offers consumers an affordable way to take advantage of improved quality source material.” Sterns added.

All Monitor XT Series speakers are timbre-matched to provide consistent sound in any array, making it simple to mix and match models to create a dream home theater or Hi-Fi system. For maximum versatility, Monitor XT loudspeakers were engineered to deliver powerful, clear audio from nearly any amplifier or receiver, whether 4 or 8 ohms.

Advanced Technologies from Polk Audio

Monitor XT loudspeakers showcase Polk Audio innovations, including Hi-Res Audio Certified Terylene dome tweeters that reproduce audio beyond 40kHz. These advanced tweeters deliver a broader sense of space and extreme clarity, according to the company.

The new line also delivers authoritative bass performance thanks to efficient and dynamically balanced woofers paired with responsive passive radiators (in the floor-standing models). These drivers, in combination with meticulously engineered crossover networks, provide clear detail, lifelike midrange, and punchy tonal delivery with ultra-low distortion.

Dedicated Height Channels

To achieve the multidimensional experience of Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and Auro 3D content, the Monitor XT lineup includes MXT90 height speakers. The MXT90 adds a vertical dimension to the sound field when playing back content of object-oriented audio formats, when placed atop the Monitor XT20, XT60, or XT70 loudspeakers or a shelf, or when wall-mounted to create the ultimate 3D home cinema.

MXT12 Powered Subwoofer

The Monitor XT12 powered subwoofer was designed to add a solid punch to music, movies, and video games with a 12-inch long-throw, Dynamically Balanced woofer is powered by an ultra-efficient 100-Watt Class A/B amplifier that delivers detailed bass down to 24Hz.

The XT12 offers line-level (RCA) and LFE inputs and is compatible with the latest Dolby Atmos and DTS:X-enabled AV receivers. Users will appreciate the ability to fine-tune performance using the variable crossover, polarity and volume adjustments. The Monitor XT12 is housed within a rigid, low-resonance cabinet and comes complete with an attractive, removable grille.
