Transform your workspace and entertainment with the BenQ EW3270U and immerse yourself in a world of breathtaking visuals and enhanced entertainment.

Design and Connectivity

The BenQ EW3270U has a simple and elegant design, with a matte black finish and thin bezels. The stand is sturdy and offers tilt adjustment, but no height, swivel, or pivot options. You can also mount the monitor on a VESA-compatible arm or bracket if you prefer.

The monitor has a good selection of ports, including two HDMI 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 port, one USB Type-C port, and one 3.5mm audio jack. The USB Type-C port can deliver power, data, and video signals with a single cable, making it convenient for connecting laptops or smartphones. The monitor also has two built-in 2W speakers that provide decent sound quality.

Picture Quality

The BenQ EW3270U boasts an impressive picture quality, thanks to its 4K resolution and HDR support. The monitor has a VA panel that can produce deep and uniform blacks, which enhances the contrast and the perceived depth of the image. The monitor also has a wide color gamut that covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color space, which is ideal for HDR content and professional photo or video editing.

The monitor supports HDR10 and emulates HDR effects with non-HDR content using its HDR Brightness Enhancement feature. This feature adjusts the backlight dynamically according to the content, creating brighter highlights and darker shadows. However, the monitor does not have local dimming or a high peak brightness, so it cannot display the full potential of HDR content.

The monitor has good gray uniformity and decent viewing angles for a VA panel, but the image may lose some accuracy when viewed from the side. The monitor also has good accuracy out of the box, but it can be further improved with calibration. The monitor has several picture modes to choose from, such as Standard, sRGB, Rec.709, HDR, Cinema HDR, Game HDR, Low Blue Light, and User.

Gaming Performance

The BenQ EW3270U is a good monitor for gaming, especially for casual or console gamers who want to enjoy 4K resolution and HDR effects. The monitor has a low input lag of around 10ms and a fast response time of around 5ms (GtG), which results in clear and responsive gameplay. The monitor also supports AMD FreeSync and G-SYNC compatibility, which eliminates screen tearing and stuttering when paired with a compatible graphics card.

However, the monitor has some limitations for competitive gamers who want higher refresh rates or faster response times. The monitor is limited to 60Hz refresh rate, which may not be enough for some fast-paced games or esports titles. The monitor also has some ghosting or smearing in dark scenes due to its VA panel’s slow pixel transitions. The monitor has an overdrive feature that can reduce ghosting by increasing the pixel response time, but it may also introduce overshoot or inverse ghosting in some cases.

Eye-Care Technology

The BenQ EW3270U is designed to protect your eyes from strain and fatigue caused by prolonged use of the monitor. The monitor has a low blue light mode that reduces the amount of harmful blue light emitted by the screen, which can cause eye damage or disrupt your sleep cycle. The monitor also has a flicker-free backlight that prevents flickering or flashing that can cause headaches or eye irritation.

The monitor also features BenQ’s exclusive Brightness Intelligence Plus (B.I.+), which is a sensor that detects the ambient light level and adjusts the screen brightness and color temperature accordingly. This feature helps you maintain optimal viewing comfort and avoid eye strain in different lighting conditions.
